Emmerdale's Lisa Riley 'so proud' as she teams up with Strictly Come Dancing's Anton Du Beke in special move

Emmerdale star Lisa Riley said she is 'so proud' as prepares set to team up with Strictly Come Dancing star Anton Du Beke for a project close to both their hearts. They are set to host a special live show in tribute to friend and co-star Robin Windsor following his tragic death earlier this year.

The dancer's death, aged 44, was confirmed by Sisco Entertainment, which represented him in various areas of theatre and corporate entertainment, in February. Robin joined Strictly 2010 and in his first year, he was paired with EastEnders star Patsy Kensit. But he had to leave four years later due to an injury.

The closest he got to winning was coming in fifth place with Emmerdale actress Lisa Riley in 2012, with the popular pairing finishing in 5th place. Other partners included actress Anita Dobson and Dragons' Den's Deborah Meaden. He also took part in various Christmas specials with the likes of ITV stars Susanna Reid and Alison Hammond.

It has now been revealed that a new West End show will celebrate Robin’s life. Called ‘Robin Windsor The Final Act’, tickets go on sale on Wednesday (June 19) at 10am and the show will take place on Sunday November 3. All profits from ticket sales are set to go to mental health charity SANE.

The show in memory of Robin is set to be hosted by actress Lisa, famed for playing Mandy Dingle in ITV's Emmerdale, and Strictly judge Anton. Another of Robin's celebrity partners, Dragon Deborah Meaden will also take part, with many more names still to be announced.

Confirming the news alongside a poignant poster for the upcoming event, Lisa wrote on Instagram: "So so so proud to be hosting this INCREDIBLE night of talent with @mrantondubeke. A live show at THEATTRE ROYAL DRURY LANE in London’s WEST END... a night dedicated to my best friend @robinwindsor my for always angel...

"I love you and miss you so much. Tickets go on sale TOMORROW MORNING at 10am all proceeds going to Robin’s personal charity SANE @charitysane don’t wait as I feel it will sell out VERY fast!"

Lisa's Emmerdale co-star Beth Cordingly was among the first to show her support, writing: "How Wonderful, Lise. That’s fabulous. You’ll do him proud." The soap's stars fans and followers also praised the idea.
