Yahoo News Emmerdale's Manpreet to face upsetting rejection in death fallout

Emmerdale couple Manpreet Sharma and Charles Anderson drift further apart next week.
The pair's relationship comes under serious strain as Charles continues to struggle following the tragic loss of his son Ethan.
Next week, Manpreet finds an unlikely confidante as she tells Ruby Fox-Miligan how things are going with Charles.
Manpreet surprises even herself as she opens up to Ruby, still unaware that Ruby was the mystery hit and run driver who injured Ethan a few days before his death.

Ruby remains guilty over the situation and hopes to find a way to help.
When Ruby pays a visit to the church, Charles is surprised to find her there.
Ruby tentatively reaches for Charles' hand and is pleased when he allows her to support him.

Later in the week, the day of Ethan's funeral arrives and Charles leads the service as a final tribute to his son.
Charles feels the pressure to do Ethan proud and he struggles through the emotional day.
When the wake takes place at The Woolpack, things get worse as Charles hits the bottle for comfort.
Manpreet is hurt when Charles takes his grief out on her, drunkenly ordering her to leave. With the issues between them getting worse, can they move past this?

Kevin Mathurin, who plays Charles, recently spoke about saying goodbye to his co-star Emile John. Emile has bowed out from the ITV soap after three years in the role of Ethan.
He told us: "It was devastating to know that Emile was leaving. We joined the show together and we bonded straight away. He's been amazing playing my son and he's a good mate, a brother, and we've had some great moments and laughs and tears together.
"We've had an amazing journey and it's just going to be so weird not having him sitting next to me in the dressing room, belly-laughing!
"He's an amazing energy to have on set and he's a brilliant actor. The future is very bright for this talented guy, so I wish him all the best."
Emmerdale airs Ethan's funeral on Thursday, June 13.
