Emmerdale's Matty to face dangerous prison incident

Emmerdale spoilers follow.

Emmerdale's Matty Barton fears for his life in prison next week as dangerous inmate Robbo discovers that he's trans.

Matty is left in a vulnerable position at the jail after his wife Amy accidentally says too much to Robbo in the visiting room.

Next week's episodes open with Matty feeling more positive about his time in jail, as his cellmate Les has accepted him as a trans man.

This surprises Matty, who'd previously felt intimidated by Les. He happily shares the news with Amy when she pays a visit.

Amy also passes on the good news that she and Moira Dingle have recruited a new solicitor for Matty. Feeling more optimistic, Matty hopes that he could be out of prison soon.

Once Matty heads back to his cell, Amy has a quick chat with Robbo, as she mistakes him for Les.

Robbo, who has been curious about what Matty is hiding, puts on a sympathetic front and manages to get the truth from Amy.

As Amy leaves, she's oblivious to the danger that she has put Matty in by speaking so openly to the wrong person.
