Endangerment, assault among indictments issued

May 6—A Crossville man allegedly involved in a domestic incident who then crashed a vehicle through a gate at the recreation park and led police on a chase into the Homesteads is one of dozens indicted by the county grand jury.

Alexander Gregory Rice, 22, Coyote Ct., was indicted on charges of reckless endangerment, aggravated assault, evading arrest and domestic assault in connection with the Feb. 5, 2023, incident.

According to reports at the time, police received a report of a vehicle crashing into a gate and fence at Centennial Park off Industrial Blvd.

Eyewitnesses told police the vehicle then traveled toward Main St. where a Crossville police officer spotted it in the area of Woodmere Mall traveling south.

The driver attempted to elude police, ending up on Hwy. 68 in the Homesteads community where it was forced to a stop by Cumberland County Sheriff's Office and CPD officers at the intersection of Short Saw Mill Rd.

Investigation tied the incident to a woman being forced into the vehicle during a domestic situation. That person was not injured in the crash.
