Football really is the perfect pastime to enjoy with your mates, especially when it involves collectively yelling at the television.

In a thrilling match yesterday (June 30th), England emerged victorious with a 2-1 win against Slovakia, thus bagging a spot in the UEFA Euros quarter-final where they'll face Switzerland this coming weekend.

Despite the win, many fans seem less than impressed with England's performance up to this point, having only managed to top their group by a narrow margin, scoring just one goal and ending games against Denmark and Slovenia in draws.

It seems that expressing dismay and shouting at the TV during a match is an intrinsic part of the sports-fan experience, and the Euro tournament has been no exception to such displays of passion. Amidst all the enthusiasm, however, one woman managed to leave her partner astounded.

A humorous TikTok video captures the moment: the woman had taken note of her other half's comments during England's 1-1 match with Denmark and decided to throw his football lingo back at him during the following game against Slovenia, just to see how he'd react if she suddenly turned into a football guru.

As the match unfolded, she nonchalantly mentioned: "I don't know why Stones doesn't step up, because that would make Declan Rice go forward."

To her amusement, her partner wore a look of sheer bewilderment, completely taken aback as he pondered over the sudden shift in her football prowess. He responded with a simple yet dumbfounded: "Yeah.."

Phrases she inexplicably came out with included, "I don't get why Kane's dropping so far back, you need to run behind," and, "You need a left back with a left foot, because Trippier isn't naturally left-footed is he?"

Perplexed, her partner inquired where she was picking up such insights, only to be told by her that she had "just listened". Acknowledging her accuracy, he admitted she was "spot on" with her comments.

She also remarked: "I tell you what, in the second half they need to drop Foden in the 10 position. I like him there." To which her partner, still surprised, agreed, "I like him there as well."

Viewers found the exchange hilarious, many commenting on how the man appeared "secretly impressed".

One viewer commented: "Shane looked proud and gobsmacked at the same time," while another observed: "I think he just fell in love with you all over again."

But one astute observer highlighted a glaring issue with England's gameplay, noting it was telling if the woman could simply reiterate what she heard him say during England's last match. They pointed out: "When you realise that this means England played both games with exactly the SAME issues."
