England team news

England Women manager Phil Neville was able to hand a start to forward Ellen White against Germany at a sold-out Wembley.

The six-goal hero from the World Cup was making a first appearance for her country since her exploits in the summer.

Neville made four changes to the team which defeated Portugal 1-0 last month with Mary Earps in goal and Jill Scott and Jordan Nobbs back after injury problems.

Ellie Roebuck, Rachel Daly, Lucy Staniforth and Bethany England dropped to the bench as a result.

Head to head (h2h) history and results

The two sides have met 25 times, with England winning just once, in the third-place play-off at the 2015 World Cup. Germany have won 20 meetings, with four draws.
