Epic four-day charity walk in memory of mother by Bartlett brothers

Two brothers are walking the equivalent of a marathon each day over four days to raise money for charity.

Aidan and Gregg Bartlett are walking over 100 miles from Worthing in aid of Macmillan after their mother Lesley died of cancer in 2018.

Starting from Lesley's birthplace, the brothers will trek to Chippenham, where she lived for 19 years and ultimately lost her battle with cancer.

They are aiming to raise money for everyone experiencing the debilitating effects of the disease.

Beginning on May 10 and ending on May 13, Aidan and Gregg will be following a route crossing through South Downs National Park, the Hampshire countryside, and the vast Salisbury Plain before arriving in Chippenham.

Aidan said: “This isn't just about honouring our mum; she was a mum to four boys, a grandma to seven, and a friend to many.

“We're doing this for them but also for everyone who has faced, or is facing. cancer.

“This is a huge challenge for us, but we can’t begin to imagine what it must be like for people living with cancer.

"So, we will walk every mile in their honour.”

Support for the brothers has been incredible and they have already raised more than £3500.

Aidan said: “We've received incredible support so far.
Holman, in particular, has been instrumental in offering significant sponsorship and personal assistance.

“Their commitment to community support goes above and beyond, and we're sincerely thankful.

"Additionally, the generosity of others has been remarkable. As we continue our walk, we aim to raise even more funds for this outstanding charity.”

Gregg added: “Our memories of mum are precious, and by supporting Macmillan, we hope to help them continue making a difference in the lives of people living with cancer across the UK.”
