Erik ten Hag secures 'new job' after Man United manager decision confirmed

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has reportedly found himself a new job this summer.

According to reports on social media, the United boss will be heading into punditry in the Netherlands for Euro 2024. It is claimed by X account @TheEuropeanLad that Ten Hag will be in the studio for tonight's England game against Serbia providing expert analysis on the action.

The Dutchman has been critical of the media and pundits in particular this season. United were heavily criticised for their displays in the past season and Ten Hag believed he was unfairly treated by the UK press at times.

His mooted move into punditry comes just days after Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS managed to conclude their end-of-season review. Before the FA Cup final victory over Manchester City, it was widely believed that Ten Hag would be sacked as manager.

However, after examining their options in the managerial market, Ratcliffe and co. decided that it would be best to stick with their incumbent. Not only that but the Reds are also planning contract talks with Ten Hag to extend his stay in Manchester beyond 2025.

MEN Sport understands United will want Ten Hag to take on a head coach role which would limit his responsibilities inside the club. It is thought that the Dutchman is reluctant to allow sporting directors full control on transfer business and is hoping to broke some kind of deal which keeps his say in the boardroom. Next month, Ten Hag and United will return to action with their pre-season tour beginning in mid-July.
