Erling Haaland insists he lives for Champions League nights after his double earned Borussia Dortmund a 2-1 advantage over Paris Saint-Germain.

The Germans have a first-leg lead thanks to the Norwegian’s brace either side of Neymar’s equaliser, with his second a stunning, powerful drive from outside of the area.

Haaland’s incredible rise continues with 10 goals in seven games since joining from RB Salzburg in January for £18m.

And the 19-year-old played down any realisation of just how good he is and can be, while revealing he almost blanked out following his winner in order to soak up the moment.

“I know I have a lot to improve and you saw that today, I have to keep working hard,” Haaland told DAZN.

“We have to keep going, I want to reach far in this competition, work hard and keep going.

“I didn’t think too much, I enjoyed the moment, these nights you live for.

“It’s fantastic. We let in a goal that we should have kept out, but that’s how it is.

“We have to improve but we’ll see what happens in the next Champions League.

“We have to see how many goals I’ll score in Paris, let’s see.”

Lucien Favre’s side will now travel to the French capital in their efforts to finish the job and reach the last eight on 11 March.
