Emotions ran high on Escape to the Country as Sue and Rich, hailing from Northamptonshire, were looking forward to the prospect of beginning a fresh chapter in Wales. Along with their desire to uproot, they harboured an ambition of launching a business that would provide accommodations on their property after their relocation.

Sue shared their motivation behind this considerable life change and forthcoming entrepreneurial voyage, revealing the recent loss of both her parents within a span of two years. Rich supplemented this by saying: "I lost my sister very suddenly only last month."

Conveying their realisation, Rich added, "It just highlighted the fact that life's too short really, not doing what you really feel like you should be doing. So, now is the time we want to make the move and live the rest of our lives."

As their house-hunt commenced, they were introduced to a number of stunning properties by Steve Brown, all within the constraints of their £650,000 budget. However, it was the 'mystery house' that effortlessly commanded their attention and swept them off their feet.

The property, nestled in the village of Marton, boasted over six acres of land, including two paddocks, a vast front garden, an orchard, and woodland. But it was the walled garden that brought Sue to tears, reports the Mirror.

Overwhelmed by emotion, Sue confessed: "It's my walled garden that I've always, always said that I wanted. I'm getting quite choked up. It's gorgeous, isn't it? It's made me cry!"

Seeing Sue's reaction, Steve approached to check on her, as Rich explained to the host that finding such a garden was like a "dream come true".

Responding, Steve said: "Well I aim to please! Not to upset, but certainly please."

The moment came for them to determine the price tag after they had toured the entire house. Disclosing the market price of £550,000 left them visibly thrilled yet speechless.

That said, Steve felt compelled to inform: "I've got to let you know, despite it not being on the market for very long, it's already had a couple of offers on the property so you really do need to think fast."

In their subsequent rendezvous with Steve, it appeared that Rich and Sue had advanced in their endeavours. Revealing an offer had already been made since their last meeting with Steve, they surprised the Escape to the Country host.

Reiterating how irresistible the proposition was, Steve commented: "I was nervous because for every good think about it, I was thinking, 'Oh the house is going to be too much work, this is going to be too big a project despite its potential'."

Rich confessed their plans may require revising their plan to transition completely into the business by quitting their jobs, despite feeling both excited and apprehensive about their decision.

Unfortunately, it transpired by the end of the episode that another individual placed a higher bid which was accepted.
