Escape to the Country's Jules Hudson floored by house with feature he's never seen before
Jules Hudson was helping a couple search for a rural Scottish home during Thursday's (April 11) episode of Escape to the Country, which saw the presenter visit a home with a 'never seen before' feature. The couple joined Jules in Moray which is an award-winning village recognised as a world leader for sustainable and holistic community living.
House hunters Maria, a higher education consultant originally from Venezuela, and Danielle, a recently retired police sergeant from Lancashire wanted to find a property with enough land to accommodate their dogs, cats and 26 chickens. Jules introduced them to a stunning property on outskirts of Lossiemouth.
"Now, no surprise to Escape to the Country when we select our mystery houses, we do like to take a little bit of creative licence. That is what we've done here, particularly when we know that the properties that come before it have absolutely hit the mark."
He added: "Now you could be forgiven for thinking this was in Massachusetts, but wait till you see what's on offer inside." Upon entering the house, Jules skipped a tour of the downstairs living area and went straight to the top of the stairs.
Situated on the landing was a wonderful study with a stunning balcony located in the middle of the wall. Guarded by a grand iron railing, the area overlooked a beautiful dining and living room. Jules said: "The view of the kitchen-diner, one quite unlike any I've ever seen before."
Marie and Danielle were also left completely blown away by the house and immediately branded it "stunning". "As soon as you walk in it's like wow", Danielle told Jules.
The couple were then left stunned as Jules showed them the "indulgent" study area overlooking the kitchen. "Oh pretty", Danielle said as Marie added: "What else can you ask for."
"This property has got us all quite giddy with excitement", the host said as they all headed outside. When Jules, Danielle, and Marie went into the garden to discuss the properties value, the house hunters were left shocked to learn it was under their £400,000 budget.
"You will be delighted to know, I am sure, this has been slightly reduced. They're now looking for offers over £365,000", leaving the pair shocked once more.
The detached home was on sale in October 2022 for offers over £365,000, and came with a quarter of an acre of land. However, despite the brilliant layout of the home, Maria and Danielle put an offer in on another house after they had filmed at with the BBC show.
Escape to the Country airs weekdays at 3pm on BBC One
