Essex residents have cast their vote, with the Conservatives suffering extremely heavy losses in many seats across the county in the General Election 2024.

EssexLive has been on hand along every twist in the journey as polling stations open. Votes are still being counted in some constituencies, but the Labour Party and Liberal Democrats have made big gains in the county tonight. Labour have won and outright majority and are expected to take the election by a landslide.

Polling stations opened at 7am on July 4. Votes were counted across the county from as early as 10am, straight after the polls closed. Some constituencies are still going into this morning. But we have all the results below, and the ones still to come will be added in.
