Euphoria's Sydney Sweeney says talking about season 3 is "as scary" as discussing Marvel

Euphoria star Sydney Sweeney has hinted at the secrecy surrounding season 3 of the show.

Season 2 of the show concluded back in 2022 and its return has been highly anticipated. Appearing on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, the actress, who plays Cassie Howard, didn't give much away regarding season 3.

Podcast host Josh Horowitz asked Sweeney if she was ever unsure about the show coming back. He jokingly pointed out her suspiciously drinking water, before enquiring further about the upcoming season.

"Honestly, it's, like, as scary as talking about Marvel," she told him, seemingly referring to the confidentiality required of Marvel stars.

Sweeney was understandably tight-lipped during the interview, adamant not to repeat her previous error, as she recently referenced going to work on Euphoria, much to the fans' delight.

"I said one thing, and it went everywhere," she said.

This time, she wasn't going to be caught out, merely responding with "Maybe. I don’t know" when asked if she had seen any scripts for season 3.

The Madame Web star did share how much she loves playing the role of Cassie: "Cassie truly is a dream to play and as an actor, I’m so fortunate that I've had a character like her at such a young age."

She added: "And, of course, I wanna keep living her crazy. I love it."

Sweeney recently produced and starred in horror movie Immaculate. Speaking exclusively with Digital Spy, she raved about the experience: "I actually had so much fun, I didn't want to leave. Every day I didn't want to wrap at the end of the day.

"I would want to be the first person there to say hi to all the crew and run around to make sure everything was running smoothly. I had such a great time."

Euphoria airs on HBO in the US and on NOW and Sky Atlantic in the UK.
