Right after Olly Alexander's Eurovision 2024 performance, viewers were treated to a sketch from a character who is apparently huge in Sweden. Lynda Woodruff is a fictional character portrayed by Swedish actress and singer Sarah Dawn Finer.

The character popped up to perform a mid-show skit which included her as a representative of the EBU (European Broadcasting Union) and singing a song about various point and major players in Eurovision history.

It's not the first time Lynda has popped up on Eurovision with her fake London accent. In 2012 she presented Sweden's votes and appeared in sketches during the 2013 and 2016 contest, too.

Viewers at home were bemused and amused at Lynda's appearance and while she's a big hit in Sweden, fans around the world aren't so familiar.

One wrote, though: "Will be hitting the YouTube tomorrow for more Lynda Woodruff. Loved that." another added on X: "Oh my Lord, Lynda Woodruff is KILLING ME. This is the best segment EVER!! She's an honorary lesbian."

Another said: "LYNDA WOODRUFF TO WIN."
