Euston murder: Man staggers into London hotel and dies from stab wounds, prompting 11 arrests

A man has died after staggering into a London hotel with stab wounds.

Police have arrested 11 people on suspicion of murder after the knife attack in Euston.

The victim collapsed after walking into the lobby of the four-star The Wesley hotel in Euston Street at 10.45pm on Monday night.

Staff rushed to his aid and called 999 but he was pronounced dead by paramedics 45 minutes later.

The Metropolitan Police said: “Urgent enquiries are currently taking place to identify the victim and inform his next of kin.

“A post-mortem examination will take place in due course.”

Ayesha Begum, 38, who lives close to where the man was found, came out of her home after hearing a commotion and said police were following a “trail of blood”.

Laura Collings, 34, a hotel guest on a business trip from Manchester, said she returned to the hotel shortly after the man’s body had been taken away.

She saw “quite a few people walking around looking upset” who seemed like “they might have been associated in some way” with the victim.

Officers cordoned off the road, close to Euston station, and remained at the hotel on Tuesday morning.

No further details were available about the suspects, who were taken into custody at separate police stations.

Scotland Yard asked witnesses or anyone with information call officers on 101, quoting CAD 7945/18 Feb, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
