Evacuations in Santa Cruz as San Lorenzo River Floods

Santa Cruz County officials issued an evacuation order for areas throughout the county as excessive rainfall led to flooding on March 10.

Footage from Dustin Mulvaney shows the flooded San Lorenzo River, which he said was receding from its flooding stage.

The National Weather Service (NWS) issued flooding advisories for several areas along California’s coast on Friday morning. The NWS said rains would taper off by the afternoon, but that impacts of heavy rainfall would remain.
