ONE Northwich family now has two regional boxing champions in their midst.

Thomas and Jimmy Evans – both of whom represent the Superbox club – were victorious at the recent regional finals in Bootle to add to the two area champions the club already boasted in Mason Warburton and Bella Dempsey.

Thomas emerged as the winner in the 34kg schoolboy cadet weight class, winning his final fight via a unanimous decision against Marybone Boxing Club’s Michael Smith.

His older brother Jimmy then made sure it was two titles for the household as he claimed victory in the 54kg schoolboy cadet class by beating Riley Gregory via a decision.

Superbox is led by coaches Steve and Thomas Bunby and the club is gearing up for a move to a bigger space at Rudheath Academy in the coming weeks.

The club are on the lookout for more support in terms of sponsorship and any interested parties are invited to email superboxgymnorthwich@gmail.com.

Meanwhile, Superbox have collaborated with Winnington Park Rugby Club to host a night of boxing at Burrows Hill on Saturday, June 15.

The event will feature 15 bouts, with junior and senior amateur fights on the card which kicks off at 7pm.

Tickets for the event cost £15 for adults and £10 for under 16s and can be purchased by searching for Superbox Northwich on eventbrite.co.uk
