Every Dress Zendaya's Worn to the Met Gala
In recent years, no one has owned red carpet fashion in quite the same way as Zendaya. Along with her stylist, Law Roach, the actress had carved a remarkable niche for herself, with many of her appearances becoming style news moments unto themselves. The risk-taking starlet has particularly made her mark on the famously flamboyant red carpet of the Met Gala, and while she's missed the last few years due to work obligations, with her position as co-chair for the 2024 event, we're finally guaranteed that's she is making a grand return to fashion's biggest night.
In honor of tonight's appearance, we're taking a look back at all of the stunning outfits Zendaya has worn to the Met Gala over the years.
2024
Zendaya embraced the Garden of Time theme in a cascading blue and green striped gown with layers of transparent tulle, bedecked with birds and botanical embellishments. She topped it all off with a dramatic feathered fascinator.
2019
For 2019's "Camp: Notes on Fashion" theme, Zendaya embraced her inner princess in a custom, light-up Tommy Hilfiger dress, complete with carriage-shaped Judith Leiber bag and her own personal fairy godfather, played by stylist Law Roach. She even left a glass slipper behind on the gala steps, to cement the storytelling.
2018
In keeping with the "Heavenly Bodies: Fashion & The Catholic Imagination" theme of the 2018 Met Gala, Zendaya walked the red carpet as a high-fashion version of Joan of Arc in a glittering pewter Versace gown, inspired by armor.
2017
Zendaya opted for a dramatic, sweeping Dolce & Gabbana gown in an eye-catching scarlet, ochre, and cobalt tropical print for the 2017 Met Gala theme, "Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garçons: Art of the In-Between."
2016
For 2016's "Manus x Machina: Fashion In An Age Of Technology" themed event, Zendaya gave a touch of retrofuturism in a Studio 54-worthy glittering bronze one-shoulder gown by Michael Kors, offset with a curvy blunt bob.
2015
"Going to the Met Ball was a night to remember, overwhelming but in the best kind of way," the actress told People of her first Met Gala appearance. For her debut on the Gala carpet, she chose a custom Fausto Puglisi in black, white, and red with sun motifs inspired by the theme, "China: Through The Looking Glass".
