Everything Everywhere All at Once star Michelle Yeoh has revealed there won't be a follow-up to the Oscar-winning film.

Speaking to Variety at the Cannes film festival, the actress confirmed that there was no plans to make a second film.

"There's no sequel," she said. "We would just be doing the same thing."

Yeoh starred alongside Ke Huy Quan, Stephanie Hsu and Jamie Lee Curtis in the highly successful multiverse adventure, which picked up the award for Best Picture at the Academy Awards as well as Best Actress, Best Supporting Actress and Best Supporting Actor wins for Yeoh, Curtis and Quan.

While fans may be disappointed at the news that we won't be getting a second Everything Everywhere film, there are plenty of opportunities to see Yeoh in upcoming projects.

The actress will next be seen in Disney+ series American Born Chinese, reuniting with co-stars Quan and Hsu.

The show is based off of Gene Luen Yang's graphic novel, which tells the story of high-school student Jin who becomes embroiled in a battle with Chinese mythological gods after meeting an exchange student.

Yeoh will also be reprising her role as Emperor Philippa Georgiou in new film Star Trek: Section 31, as well as landing a key role in the upcoming Wicked movies and starring alongside Kenneth Branagh in new Agatha Christie adaption A Haunting in Venice.

Yeoh explained that she's thankful to finally be receiving scripts for characters which aren't defined by their ethnicity.

"The best thing that has happened is I receive a script that doesn't describe the character as a Chinese or Asian-looking person," she added (via Variety).

"We are actors. We are supposed to act. We are supposed to step into roles that are given to us and do our job as best we can. That, for me, is the biggest step forward."

Everything Everywhere All at Once is available to rent or buy now in the UK from Prime Video, iTunes, Microsoft Store and other digital retailers.
