Netflix is releasing The Ultimatum: Queer Love, an all-LGBTQ+ season of its messy relationship show, and here’s what we know about it so far.

The first season of the series premiered last year and followed five couples, one partner ready for marriage and the other not so much. This same structure will be used for the Queer Love season.

In its description, Netflix writes, “An ultimatum is issued, And in just over eight weeks, each couple will either get married, or get out, after they each choose new potential partners in a life-changing opportunity to get a glimpse of two different futures.”

Now, Netflix is making it queer and we are ready for it. This upcoming season will again follow five couples, this time made up of women and non-binary people.

The season’s official synopsis reads, “The Ultimatum universe is expanding to showcase more stories of love, relationships, and the ups and downs of commitment.”

The streaming giant also released the trailer for the show that will be hosted by Reba alum JoAnna Garcia Swisher. The teaser gives fans a glimpse of what to expect, as well as some juicy sound bites. A highlight of the video is when one contestant tells their partner, “If you don’t like my dog, you can get the f**k out.”

The 10-episode season will be released over the course of three weeks, with the first four episodes dropping on May 24 and the finale episodes on June 7. Queer dating shows are hard to come by, so we are looking forward to what Netflix has to offer!

In addition to announcing new information about The Ultimatum: Queer Love, it was also confirmed that the seventh season of Queer Eye is set to release on May 12, bringing the Fab Five to New Orleans. Jonathan Van Ness, Bobby Berk, Karamo Brown, Antoni Porowski and Tan France will “bring some sparkle and sass” to the state, “and transform the lives of residents who are in need of a fresh start”.

These Netflix announcements, coupled with BBC Three revealing details of the upcoming gay dating show I Kissed a Boy, means there is a lot of new LGBTQ+ content to look forward to!
