Former Hollyoaks star Connor Calland has confirmed his engagement to partner Monica Geldart, so many congratulations are in order.

The couple revealed the happy news on their Instagram pages as they shared a series of sweet photos.

"The posed engagement photo VS How we actually felt," Connor captioned two snaps, including one of them screaming in excitement.

"A million times, yes [red heart emoji] [engagement ring emoji]," Monica wrote on her own page.

Connor famously played the role of drug dealer Jordan Price between 2019 and 2020, with his character eventually killed off.

Speaking at the time of his exit around Christmas 2020, the actor told Digital Spy: "I'm sad that I won't be stepping back on set at Hollyoaks, but it's also a pleasure to look back at the storyline and how it's all played out over the past year.

"It's been a big, mixed bag of emotions."

Hollyoaks was one of Connor's first major jobs, and he has since gone on to star in the likes of Casualty, Stay Close, The King's Man and Last Night in Soho.

"Starting on the soap and having this be my first major job had its challenges," he told us at the time of his exit. "I had to overcome the pace of the work and how professional everyone is. It was a case of getting used to that, but I love being that busy and I'd love to stay within the soap world.

"After having Hollyoaks as my first job, it's going to be difficult to want to move! But just staying acting is something I want to do and I'd love to keep having storylines that are as important as County Lines."

Hollyoaks streams first on All 4, with new episodes dropping each weekday morning. The show airs Mondays to Fridays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, and at 7pm on E4.

Selected omnibus episodes are available via Prime Video.
