Former Tory MP Jacob Rees-Mogg is said to be filming a Kardashian-style documentary series about his family life.

The politician, who recently lost his North East Somerset seat to Labour's Dan Norris, is reportedly following in the footsteps of other politicians-turned-reality stars like Nigel Farage and Matt Hancock. Both Farage and Hancock stirred up mixed reactions when they appeared on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! a year apart.

A source has claimed that the five-part documentary series will be marketed as 'the British version of the Kardashians'. The series, rumoured to be titled Meet The Moggs, will allegedly feature his wife Helena and their six children Sixtus, Peter, Mary, Thomas, Anselm and Alfred.

"Jacob and his family have been filming for the last couple of months but no one expected the General Election to be announced," an insider revealed, referring to the July 4 election. "It was gold for the show however and gave a real insight into what family is like for working MPs.", reports the Mirror.

Speaking to The Sun, the source added: "His son Peter is really keen to make a name for himself in TV so he has been front and centre."

They mentioned that the series would be 'warts and all' and that the crew were surprised by 'how much they love Jacob' and how enjoyable he is to work with, despite his controversial views.

The MP, a staunch Catholic, has publicly opposed abortions and has stated that 'life begins at the point of conception'. During his time as MP, he voted in favour of repealing the Human Rights Act twice and openly campaigned for Britain to leave the EU during the Brexit referendum in 2016.

His allegiance with the Prime Minister Boris Johnson is well-known - with Johnson appointing him as leader of the House of Commons in 2019. When it comes to same-sex marriages, he admitted he was 'not proud' of its legal status.

Rees-Mogg also had a stint on GB News, however two episodes of his show fell short of impartiality rules, according to broadcasting watchdog Ofcom.

Educated in the grand halls of Eton, Rees-Mogg once spoke visibly about his fondness for large families to The Mirror, quipping: "We have as many as possible, but as Helena does all the hard work I think six will be it."

He went on to admit that it's "jolly hard work" for their nanny. The MP hasn't been coy in sharing his wish for enough offspring to start a cricket team.
