Exact time heavy rain will drench Somerset amid weather warning

Somesert and parts of the West Country are set for a barrage of heavy rain today. The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning which is in place from 8am until 11.59pm.

Forecasters expect the heavy rain to result in travel disruption and possible flooding. Bus and train services could be delayed and journey times may be longer due to spray and flooding.

According to the Met Office hour-by-hour outlook, the unsettled weather will hit Somerset from around 10am this morning. Initially there will be light rain, but the Devon-based forecasters give a 90 per cent chance of heavy rain from 12pm until 7pm - and then an 80 per cent from 7pm to 11pm.
