RuPaul’s Drag Race recently made her-story when they crowned two winners at the final of All Stars 4.

Both Trinity The Tuck and Monet X Change won the title of All Stars winner, each taking home a crown and $100,000 prize money – but fans were split on RuPaul’s decision.

The Netflix show has filmed multiple endings for the last few years, to keep the real winner a secret and to prevent leaks.

Speaking exclusively to Digital Spy, All Stars 3 winner Trixie Mattel spoke about the finale’s editing, which showed the queens being crowned separately.

“On All Stars 3 we filmed a tie between myself and Kennedy [Davenport] and they didn’t use it, and for All Stars 4 they didn’t even film a tie,” she said.

“I was there, me and Alaska and Chad and they didn’t film it, so think about that. They must have decided on a tie in the past few weeks, in the last month.

"Honestly, I’m sure it has more to do with the public reaction than the competition. I think if they thought it was truly a tie in person, they would have filmed a tie.”

A number of fans have been unhappy that the Drag Race Hall of Fame, made up of the All Stars series winners, is considered “white and blonde”.

Discussing whether that could be a reason for the tie, Trixie added: “We all have wigs on, so there’s that and I’m half-white.

“In America, you are your skin colour and you are your privilege. I can assure you that Drag Race, is the most diverse show to be on.

"RuPaul is black and gay, his hair and make-up artists are all colours and genders, the story people are a black woman and a Mexican woman, everybody in the production team is either gay, lesbian, bi or a person of colour, it’s extremely diverse.

“Some people talk about the black queens being less followed, that has to do with the fans, that doesn’t have to do with Drag Race."

Trixie is currently on tour in the UK, and revealed her favourite thing about being in the country.

“Primark,” she said. “I got a pink denim jacket and mini skirt today for like, 25 quid, get in to that. They have a lot of pink shit. So people are always coming to Trixie Mattel shows in really cute pink outfits and I’m always like ‘where did you get that’ and they always say Primark.”

“Oh and I also like the Boots No7 store. Barry M lipstick in baby pink is one of my favourite lipsticks and they don’t sell it in the US, so I always pick up a tube of that. Revolution is hard to come by in America, they have cool cosmetics.”

She continued: “I can’t wait to meet everyone at my tour. Please come and please don’t touch my hair.”
