The Full Monty TV series spoilers follow.

British classic The Full Monty has returned for a new series on Disney+, reuniting cast members like Mark Addy and Robert Carlyle.

Although society and the issues with it that our characters have to try and deal with have changed massively, there are little nods and touches to remind fans of a simpler (yet still turbulent) time — as well as the return of that iconic dance, of course.

Speaking exclusively to Digital Spy, Dave actor Addy shared: "I'm assured that the jacket that Dom[inic Sharkey] wears, who plays Cal – you know, Destiny's friend – is the kind of jacket that Uberto Pasolini wore, who was our executive producer."

He continued: "I meant to mention that and I forgot. It’s a version of that; he's got that formal jacket with a dark collar. It’s like, 'That's our executive producer.'"

"There are a lot of little signs and things," Steve Huison, who plays Lomper, added. "I mean, I've only seen the first two episodes, but I've added a few things myself as we’ve gone along.

"There are a few signs and symbols and nods to the original, which I think the audience will go, 'Oh, look, they're still doing that' or 'He said that in the film, didn't he?'

"There's one bit that made me laugh where Cal says… Somebody says, 'You alright?' He goes, 'Not bad.' 'Ah, but we know where that comes from.' It's in a different situation. It just resonates again."

Speaking about that dance scene, Carlyle talked us through what it was like filming it, from the "emotional" aspect of it all, to the thing he refused to do.

The Full Monty series and the original film can be streamed on Disney+ now.
