Yahoo News Exclusive: Hollyoaks to announce an exciting return
Hollyoaks will be welcoming back a fan favourite in the not-too-distant future, Digital Spy can reveal.
Show boss Bryan Kirkwood shared the news with us when we paid a visit to the Hollyoaks set this week – confirming that fans can expect an official announcement soon.
While the mystery individual's identity is being kept tightly under wraps for now, the popular character in question has a strong history with the Channel 4 soap.
Hollyoaks' creative team are already working on plans for the returning character to take centre stage with a major storyline once they're back, so this comeback will be far from quiet.

The intriguing teaser for the future comes as Hollyoaks prepares to launch its Six Weeks of Summer episodes today (July 19).
Friday's E4 episode marks the beginning of the action-packed summer season, which will explore fun, laughter, romances, secrecy and major jeopardy for some of the show's best-known regulars.
Mercedes McQueen's affair, Sienna Blake's kidnap plan, Laurie Shelby's final comeuppance and the return of Finn O'Connor are some of the stories teased in the show's recent trailer.
Cleo McQueen's romance with Mitchell Deveraux is expected to run into some trouble, but things are looking better for Sinead Shelby and Sami Maalik when they finally get together.
Meanwhile, the teens will be heading to a music festival together, and perhaps most importantly, local serial killer Breda McQueen will be preparing to strike again.
Kirkwood also shared some early teasers over this year's autumn spectacle, promising the best stunt yet for the annual October highlight.
Hollyoaks airs weeknights at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first look screenings at 7pm on E4.
