The Ipsos UK exit poll for Watford gives Labour a “99 per cent plus” chance of gaining the seat.

Sir Keir Starmer will be the next Prime Minister according to the latest indications, which predict Labour will win 410 seats at the election nationally.

The data, created by Ipsos UK for Sky News, the BBC, and ITV News also suggests that Labour will also gain the Watford constituency specifically.

Despite a Conservative win with a 4,433-vote majority here in 2019, the polling predicts that the town is almost certain to flip to Labour.

South West Hertfordshire, Hertsmere, and Dacorum are all apparently “too close to call”.

Of course, exit polls only give an indication of what the result will be, generally to give a national picture rather than at a constituency level, and the actual votes remain to be counted.

A Labour win in Watford would see its candidate Matt Turmaine become the new MP after Dean Russell held the position from 2019.

Arran Bowen-la Grange (Green Party), James Ling (Reform), Khalid Chohan (Workers Party of Britain), Ian Stotesbury (Liberal Democrats), and Sarah Jane Knott (Heritage Party – Freedom. Family. Nation) are also vying for votes.
