AN immersive experience inspired by 1980s video games will be coming to Bradford as part of the upcoming BD: Festival.

ARCADE is the latest immersive audio experience from Darkfield, and takes place in complete darkness, in the confines of a shipping container in City Park.

The “choose your own path” experience explores the evolving relationship between players and their video game avatars.

Taking place over 30 minutes in a completely dark shipping container, the experience will fully immerse the players using 360 degree binaural sound, sensory effects and a bespoke ARCADE machine for each player.

Players will be asked existential questions about free will and consciousness in a world where some may win and some may lose.

The experience is for people aged 16 and over and sessions run from July 17-28.

ARCADE is part of BD: Festival and has been supported by Arts Council England and Bradford Council.

It is the only paid event at BD: Festival, and tickets cost £13. For more information, including timings for the sessions, visit https://www.bradford-theatres.co.uk/whats-on/arcade
