Ezri Konsa sends five-word message as he boards England team bus ahead of Serbia
Aston Villa’s Ezri Konsa has sent a message to England fans ahead of the Three Lions’ Euro 2024 opener.
Gareth Southgate’s side face Serbia in their opening group match in Germany on Sunday night (8pm), with Konsa joined by Villa teammate Ollie Watkins in the squad. And Konsa posted an update on Instagram ahead of the match, writing “We are ready. Let’s go” alongside a picture of himself boarding the team bus and a St. George’s flag emoji.
Konsa and Watkins are expected to miss out on the starting line-up to face Serbia.

They earned their Three Lions call-ups for the tournament after playing key roles in Villa’s incredible season, helping their club finish fourth in the Premier League to qualify for next season’s Champions League and also reach the semi-finals of the Europa Conference League.
But it is understood neither will be picked by England boss Southgate against Serbia. Watkins’ omission is no great surprise given his role as understudy to captain Harry Kane, who will lead the attack, while Southgate is expected to select the centre-back pairing of John Stones and Marc Guehi, leaving Konsa on the subs’ bench.
