Written and exec-produced by Nahnatchka Khan (Fresh Off the Boat) and Sally Bradford McKenna (The Goldbergs), Laid centers on a woman (played by Hsu) who — after finding out that her former lovers are dying in unusual ways — must go back through her sex timeline to confront her past in order to move forward. Per Peacock, it’s a show “where the answer to, ‘Why can’t I find love, is there something wrong with me?’ is a resounding ‘Yes. There is. The problem is definitely you.'”

In addition to starring in Laid, Hsu will serive an EP alongside Khan, McKenna, John Davis, John Fox, Jennifer Carreras, Marieke Hardy, Kirsty Fisher and Liz Watts.

Hsu has been on an upward career trajectory since joining Amazon’s The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel in Season 3 as a love interest for Michael Zegen’s Joel. Next came her game-changing turn in the Oscar-winning pic Everything Everywhere All at Once, which netted her a nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress. Additional credits include guest stints on Awkwafina Is Nora from Queens and Poker Face, as well as a starring role in last summer’s big screen comedy Joy Ride.
