Fabrizio Romano drops Crysencio Summerville PSG transfer update in 'open race' claim

The battle to sign Leeds United's Crysencio Summerville is now an 'open race' but one which does NOT include French giants Paris Saint-Germain, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.

The 22-year-old Dutch forward is at the centre of a transfer tug of war this summer, with Liverpool, Chelsea, Brighton and Crystal Palace all keen on the Whites star. PSG were thought to have thrown their hat in the ring too, but reports now suggest that fleeting interest came to northing.

Summerville was Leeds' star man last season, but seems destined to leave Elland Road after Daniel Farke's men missed out on promotion back to the Premier League. Archie Gray has already left the club in a £40m deal to Tottenham, with Summerville expected to be another big-money exit in the coming weeks.

While Leeds rejected a £30m bid for Georginio Rutter this week, they won't stand in Summerville's way if the right bid comes along, with the Whites looking for something in the region of £35-40m for last season's Championship player of the year. PSG's interest had sparked hopes of a bidding war, but it appears the French champions won't be following up any interest.

“My understanding is that the situation is: Summerville shares the same agents as Feyenoord defender Lutsharel Geertruida,” Romano wrote in his daily briefing.

“PSG are in talks with Geertruida on personal terms, so Summerville was mentioned during talks but there’s still no negotiation ongoing between the clubs or the player’s agents. It’s an open race with Brighton and more clubs interested.”

Leeds are keen to maximise the price for Summervile, with reports of Feyenoord holding a 15 per cent sell on clause of any transfer fee they receive.
