A “fabulous” Leicestershire country mansion with acres of land is back on the market for a reduced price. Highfield House had been put under the hammer earlier this year, but failed to sell.

The “substantial” property, in Ibstock’s Station Road, near Coalville, first appeared on auction lists in February, with sales details at the time promoting its “great renovation potential”. However, the six-bedroomed country mansion, which was priced at £750,000, failed to attract bidders and is set for another go under the hammer next week.

Latest auction details from SDL Property Auctions make clear that Highfield House is a “fabulous” property that still boasts much potential for would-be buyers. They say it could be transformed into a “superb family home”.

The country mansion is also surrounded by 2.6 acres of land while there is also an existing driveway and parking area that comes directly off Station Road. The front of the home features a wooded area, while there is a former workshop to the rear.

SDL Property Auctions say this workshop previously had planning permission to be converted into residential property. However, they confirm would-be buyers would need to reapply as permission has expired.

The house itself comprises a grand hallway alongside five reception rooms. There are also six bedrooms, two bathrooms and a cellar. Auctioneers say the property is located in the “well serviced” village of Ibstock and boasts great transport links, with the A447 close by.

The second auction of Highfield House comes with a reduced price for would-be buyers. SDL Property Auctions say the country mansion now has a guide price of £695,000 - that’s a drop of £55,000. The lot goes under the hammer at 10am on Thursday, April 25. More information can be found on the SDL Property Auctions website.
