Cornish meal provider Wiltshire Farm Foods has been awarded a Kings Award for Enterprise in Sustainable Development.

The Falmouth-based company, which operates an outlet on the Tregoniggie Industrial Estate, received this honour - the UK’s highest business accolade - for the fourth time.

Its earlier three recognitions were Queen’s Awards for Enterprise.

The recent win acknowledges the success of the company’s unique recycling scheme.

The innovative plan encourages customers to return food trays, which are subsequently recycled into new ones.

Remarkably, this world-first initiative on a commercial level has led to the recycling of 25 million trays, gaining significant admiration from the awarding body.

The King's Award honours not only Wiltshire Farm Foods but also rewards its parent company apetito for its sustainable practices.

Apetito's aim to achieve Net Zero by 2040 and meet challenging short-term carbon reduction targets clearly demonstrate the company's environmental commitment.
