Tributes have been paid by the family of a man who died after the car he was driving entered water. Jamie Parish died after his red Mercedes C220 entered the Forty Foot Drain near Chatteris, at about 11.50am on Thursday (June 13).

The 35-year-old from Stirling Square, Godmanchester, was pronounced dead at the scene. His family members said in a statement: “Jamie was a much-loved husband, brother, son and grandson, and a devoted father to his children. He was tragically taken too soon.”

The road was closed on Thursday while rescue efforts took place and the vehicle was recovered. Anyone who has information or dashcam footage of the car before the incident can report it through Cambridgeshire Police's website, using reference incident 172 of June 13.
