A viral TikTok video featuring a shockingly savvy tot has garnered over 40 million views, plus 5 million likes and counting — but what's up with the famous "Four Seasons Orlando baby?"

Firstly, despite the many "stitches" and edits of the video featuring a posh English gentleman's voiceover, it should be noted that the Four Seasons Orlando baby is actually a girl — one year old Kate Wise of Tampa, Fla. — her family tells PEOPLE.

And the clip of her that's now been "liked" over 5 million times? It was never supposed to leave the family group chat.

Kate’s aunt, Stefanie O’Brien, 32, shared the TikTok video of her niece. In the clip, Stefanie’s sister and brother-in-law, Bailey and William Wise, ask their daughters about an upcoming trip.

“I have a question for everybody. Who wants to go to the Four Seasons Orlando?” Bailey, 34, asks. Almost immediately, baby Kate shoots her hand up, one finger adorably raised, and exclaims “Me!” Her older sister, Madelyn, 4, chimes in too.

Baby Kate's apparent understanding of the question, decisiveness in her answer, and the poised way in which she delivered her vote on the vacation, shocked viewers.

But Bailey shares that the hilarious moment was far from planned.

“My husband's shirt is unbuttoned, Kate was in her diaper. This was before bath time. There was really no recording this multiple times,” the mom of two tells PEOPLE. Her only motive in recording it was to send it to her own parents in an effort to convince them to come on vacation with them.

After “dying laughing” from watching the clip with her friends, Aunt Stefanie decided to post it on TikTok “to my 50 followers,” she says. She admits, “I did not tell Bailey that I posted it.”

Dad Will, 36, only found out about it from a friend, he says. Bailey recalls her husband coming downstairs in shock to tell her, "Did you know that we are going viral and trending?"

Kate's perfectly executed response has captured the hearts — and curiosity — of Tiktok users, several of whom compared her to the secret agent "Boss Baby" from the animated movies.

Many were also left wondering, is she actually what commenters dubbed a "fully conscious" genius baby, or is “me” perhaps just a favorite word from her typical tot vocabulary?

“It's kind of the middle,” Kate’s dad explains. “She won't say ‘me!’ to everything . . . It legitimately has to be something she recognizes and wants to do. She's been to the Four Seasons before. She does recognize certain things and she does [say] ‘me!’”

He jokes that her hand gesture in the video was also an attempt to “steal some attention from her sister, so she will say ‘me!’ and get her hand up there. That is a common occurrence around the house.”

While her dad jokes, she may not be “giving a dissertation on the finer points of art history” yet, her mom asserts, “She certainly is smart."

“I don't think we realized maybe the degree of it and obviously the magnitude that the internet is taking with it. But she is vocal," says Bailey.

In fact, “pointing her finger was how she first started communicating,” Bailey says. Along with “mama” and “dada,” she can say a handful of harder words like her favorite foods: blueberries, bananas and olives, to name a few.

“There's certainly things that are appropriate for her age. And then other ones that are I guess more advanced for the age that she's at,” Bailey says.

Kate's viral fame is something the family is just getting used to in the week since Stefanie's video blew up.

“We definitely did not expect it. It is crazy,” Stefanie says. “I think at first when we were looking at the reactions we were genuinely laughing so hard at every single one of the comments, the stitches . . . and now it's just turned into this phenomenon of every big brand is capitalizing on it.” She lists off the NBA, NFL and even Netflix have gotten in on the conversation on Tiktok.

Of course, the Four Seasons has weighed in, too. “We have been in communication with them and they've been super generous with us,” Stefanie adds.

In a statement to PEOPLE, Adrien Harel, the resort manager at Four Seasons Resort Orlando, seems just as thrilled as TikTok viewers by Kate’s “precocious” demeanor.

“We were blown away from the response on social media! We know that kids absolutely love Four Seasons Resort Orlando – from our Explorer Island water park to our beloved Kids For All Seasons kids club, there are endless activities for our littlest guests to enjoy, always delivered with our signature personalized service and genuine heart,” he said.

“With this adorable and precocious response, it’s no surprise that the video has captured social audiences’ imagination. It’s been so fun to see all the creative ways that people are reacting and responding. It’s safe to say the ‘boss baby’ has become a mini celebrity!”

Kate's parents say they aren't sure how they'll break the news of her early viral fame to Kate when she's older, but Bailey is staying on top of creating a scrapbook of sorts to commemorate this moment.

“We've certainly been trying to keep up with saving things, saving some of the articles, some of the funny memes or tweets or any of the stuff we can so she can understand that this is not something that just went viral, but it seems like it's a globally known meme," she says.

More important than her sudden fame is perhaps the fate of Kate's vacation. Were the grandparents convinced to come along on a trip to the Four Seasons Orlando?

“I certainly hope so," Bailey says. "I know, at this point, if they turn Kate down, I think that the internet will be in an uproar."
