The Clyde Zip Slide fundraising event is making a comeback in September.

The 100ft high and 1,000ft long challenge will take place on September 8 and will see participants launch from a crane next to the Riverside Museum.

Organised by the armed forces charity Poppyscotland, this is the third time the charity has used the location.

Gordon Michie, head of fundraising and learning at Poppyscotland, said: “The Clyde Zip Slide was a fan favourite last year.

“People came from all over to take part in such an exhilarating challenge, and took tremendous pride in their ability to raise vital funds for Scotland’s Armed Forces community.

“This year, with the introduction of the crane launch, we hope to see this event grow further.

“The Scottish public are tremendously gracious in their support of our Armed Forces community, and this is a great opportunity for thrill seekers and families alike to make a meaningful contribution to those who keep us safe and free.

“We were particularly proud to welcome representatives from DHL, Barclays, and Motive Offshore, who raised significant funds, too.”
