Yahoo News Fans Call 'Today' Episode with Jennifer and Pat Garner One of Their Favorites Ever
Jennifer Garner's fans have come to know and love her mom, Pat. The 86-year-old grandmother has gained fame by joining Jennifer on social media for their "Pretend Cooking Show," where they cook together and share stories. The duo took their talents to TODAY and baked a blackberry cobbler.
Jennifer and Pat joined Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie for an interview before heading to the kitchen. The conversation became emotional when Pat talked about losing her husband, William, who passed away in April. Pat and William were married for 59 years and raised three daughters together.
Pat says, "I was so worried about being a widow. Then one day, I had an epiphany: You will be all right, Pat. And I really am. I really have been all right. Now, I miss him. And I so wanted to tell him I was going to be on the TODAY show."
Jennifer says, "He loved how much people love you, so he would be right there, smiling. I mean, how lucky, to grow up with parents like mine? I'm always aware of it, my sisters and I are." Jennifer called her mom an "overnight sensation" and said people are so nice to her.
