You could hardly accuse Nigel Farage of being a political wet - but the former UKIP leader was soaked to the skin as he battled through a challenge on the penultimate day of “I’m A Celebrity”.

Sporting a purple cape while taking part in the assault course alongside Josie Gibson, the 59-year-old attempted to carry gold stars to the finish line, struggling against water jets and inflatable objects hurled at him on Saturday’s show.

It follows the elimination of Marvin Humes, the JLS singer, on Friday after he received the fewest public votes.

Upon his exit, Mr Humes told hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly the jungle was “one million percent life-changing”, adding, “without getting too gushy, I am so grateful for everything that I have”.

Mr Farage, Ms Gibson, Sam Thompson and Tony Bellew are the final four competitors.

This year’s King or Queen of the Jungle will be crowned on Sunday’s live final.

So far, Frankie Dettori, Nella Rose, Fred Sirieix, Nick Pickard and Danielle Harold have been eliminated.

This year’s campmates began being eliminated from the 2023 series on December 3.

According to Ladbrokes, Sam Thompson and Nigel Farage are favourites to become the King of the Jungle.

The bookies currently have Mr Thompson as 1/2 to win and Mr Farage at 3/1, with Tony Bellew at 13/2.

On Friday night’s episode celebrities were briefly reunited with their loved ones, with Mr Farage’s daughter, Isabelle, greeting her father.

Girlfriend

Mr Farage’s girlfriend Laure Ferrari, who has also travelled to Australia as the show nears its end, has been pictured with her arm in a sling after suffering an injury while surfing.

The 44-year-old was taken to hospital following the incident and is expected to wear the sling the next two weeks, according to The Sun.

Ms Ferrari arrived at the Marriott Hotel in Surfers Paradise on Sunday and is staying at the hotel while Farage has spent 18 days sleeping in the camp.

She has not been joining the friends and family who leave at 5.30am each day from the Marriott and drive to the jungle to greet their loved ones off the bridge following a potential elimination.

Mr Farage’s 18-year-old daughter has been making the trip instead.

Since deciding to join Nigel in Australia, Ms Ferrari has confirmed her relationship with Mr Farage.
