A new pirate-themed children’s soft play and a Reformer Pilates studio have been announced as the two latest additions to Farnham ’s Brightwells Yard development. They will join the previously confirmed 24-hour gym, Jetts, and restaurants from Nando’s and Coppa Club, as well as the already open REEL Cinema.

The number of commercial tenants named by developers Crest Nicholson has increased in recent months after a prolonged build at the site. A spokesperson said they were “delighted” to be able to announce more outlets that have signed the paperwork - with more possibly on the way.

The themed Pirates Landing soft play will cater to families with youngsters up to 12 years of age “seeking adventure and fun” and will have a café for the adults. The Pilates Movement will bring Reformer Pilates to the market town with a comprehensive timetable that caters to various fitness levels and abilities.

Pirates Landing was first launched in Camberley, Surrey, and a new play venue will be opening in Wokingham this April. Another opened in Berkshire in Wokingham, last April.

Pirates Landing and The Pilates Movement are expected to open at Brightwells Yard later this year. The move will also be the third site for both companies.

Pirates Landing has been described to offer “the youngest members of the community an abundance of entertainment options” has separate play spaces tailored to both under- and over-fours and comes with a pirate ship centrepiece.

Land director at Crest Nicholson South, Nick Daruwalla, said: “We’re committed to creating a vibrant and inclusive destination where individuals and families can play, dine, and unwind, and we look forward to welcoming everyone to experience the lively atmosphere at Brightwells Yard.”

The soft play will be open year-round except on Christmas Day and provides party packages and private hire. Owners Chris Jefferson and Simon Greensay commented: “Our goal at Pirates Landing is to make a positive impact on the lives of the families in the communities we serve.”

The Pilates Movement is run by a husband and wife duo with a team of instructors to run classes and offer personal training sessions. Membership options can cover all three of the company’s sites, with the others being found in Guildford and Godalming.

Developers confirmed in April that Nando’s and 24-hour gym, Jetts, would open at Brightwells Yard. This followed initial reports in January that Nando’s had plans for the site. The four recently confirmed commercial tenants will join Coppa Club which is earmarked to take up residence in Brightwells House once restoration is completed.
