A TV director behind Father Brown and Doctors is bringing a panto back to Bedworth this Christmas - and you can be in it. Paul Gibson, who is a regular director for Father Brown, Doctors and Sister Boniface, is part of PR Productions which is bringing its successful brand of pantomimes to the Civic Hall.

PR Productions was behind an incredible 16-year long sell-out run of pantomimes at the Abbey Theatre in Nuneaton. Now, after eight years, the company is making a comeback and will be hosting what will be the venue's first Christmas Pantomime since 2019.

The Civic Hall is set to re-open its doors in July, having been closed for four years, and PR Productions' inimitable version of 'Jack and the Beanstalk' will take the coveted festive pantomime slot.

It will run from Friday, December 13 until Christmas Eve and now a search is on to find the cast to bring the panto, written by the Nuneaton resident alongside Rob Hiatt and Ray Durkin, to life. As part of this, a launch event is being held at the Bedworth Liberal Club this Sunday (May 19).

This is for anyone who wants to find out more about the show and get involved, from on stage or off it. This will then lead to open auditions being held at the end of June.

They are looking number of principal players for lead roles including the title role of Jack as well as the principal girl, Princess Poppy. Anyone aged over 16 is being urged to either audition for a main role or in the ensemble.

There will also be auditions held for two teams of dancers, aged from 17 to 16, and a team of senior dancers who are aged over 16. Anyone can go along to the launch event at the club this Sunday from 6pm.

Those who cannot make it along but would like more information about the show or the auditions in June should visit the company's website here

Tickets for the pantomime, which includes a gala night on the opening night of December 13 as well as a relaxed performance on December 13, can also be booked now. They are priced from £12 and can be booked from the website.
