Will Ferrell once embarrassed his son at prom by dressing up as a medieval lord

The actor's son Magnus explained that the moment was particularly embarrassing because the outfit "looked good.”

Hear ye, hear ye! No major milestone event will ever prevent Will Ferrell from embarrassing his kids.

On Tuesday, the actor’s son, Magnus Ferrell, posted a TikTok slideshow that featured him “rating things my dad has done” throughout his life. He neglected to mention, however, that his dad was the Step Brothers star until the second slide, when he shared a hilarious snapshot of the pair together.

In the image, Magnus can be seen sporting a gray suit as he stands next to Will, who is dressed head to toe in medieval garb — complete with squire’s cap and a frilly ruff around his neck. “Dressed as a medieval lord to embarrass me at prom," Magnus wrote. “10000/10.”

The 20-year-old simply captioned the post, “True story.”

Viewers, naturally, flooded the post’s comments section to share their surprise that Magnus was the son of the Anchorman actor. One person wrote, “I was like ‘wait is that Will Ferrell… OMG HE HAS KIDS?’”

To which Magnus cheekily responded, “He doesn’t that’s Chad Smith.” (Will Ferrell and Chad Smith, who is the drummer of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, have often poked fun at how much they look alike over the years, including during a 2013 Tonight Show interview where they dressed up in the exact same outfit.)

Another user chimed in to say that Will’s outfit wasn’t embarrassing in the slightest, adding, “Will Ferrell at your prom is awesome, if anything the fit makes it better.” Magnus replied, “NO I meant like I loved it!”

When a third person complimented Will’s wicked wardrobe, Magnus answered, “That’s why it was so embarrassing cause it looked good.”

This isn’t the first time — nor, likely, the last — that Will has kept his kids on their toes with his expert comedic timing. Last October, the SNL alum DJ’d a frat party at the University of Southern California — where Magnus currently goes to school — ahead of the school's football game against the University of Arizona Wildcats during Trojan Family Weekend.

In video footage from the event, Will could be seen bouncing behind the deck as he played a series of tunes, including Jay-Z and Kanye West's "N----s in Paris" and Survivor's "Eye of the Tiger."
