Final ‘The Marvels’ Trailer Sees a Band of Heroes Unite for “One Last Fight”

The final trailer for The Marvels sees a band of heroes unite for “one last fight.”

Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel joins forces with Iman Vellani’s Kamala Kahn/Ms. Marvel, Teyonah Parris’ Captain Monica Rambeau, Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie, Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury and potentially more Marvel characters to defeat Zawe Ashton’s Dar-Benn in the upcoming superhero film.

The two-minute look at the sequel debuted during Monday Night Football and kicks off with a look back at the Avengers’ war against Thanos, which set up the stakes for The Marvels team as they prepare to go up against a powerful enemy.

“This is just the beginning,” Ashton’s villain says early in the trailer, as she opens a hole in space, leading to a different reality leading into Earth. “She can’t be matched. Can’t be controlled,” Jackson’s Fury tells Carol, before adding, “I am asking for one last fight.”

The film follows Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel, who has reclaimed her identity from Kree and taken revenge on the Supreme Intelligence, according to its description. When unintended consequences lead to a destabilized universe, she is sent to a wormhole linked to a Kree revolutionary, causing her powers to become entangled with Kamala and Monica’s.

Director Nia DaCosta acknowledges her Marvel installment is coming out at a time when people are starting to feel superhero fatigue, but she’s confident The Marvels will stick out.

“The biggest difference from the other [Marvel Cinematic Universe] movies to date is that it’s really wacky, and silly,” the Candyman helmer previously said. “The worlds we go to in this movie are worlds unlike others you’ve seen in the MCU. Bright worlds that you haven’t seen before.”

Gary Lewis, Seo-Jun Park, Zenobia Shroff, Mohan Kapur and Saagar Shaikh round out the cast of DaCosta’s film. Kevin Feige produces the sequel, with Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Mary Livanos and Matthew Jenkins serving as executive producers.

The Marvels hits theaters Nov. 10.
