When is the final series of Saturday Night Takeaway on ITV? Will it be in 2023? Will Little Ant & Dec feature?

Ant and Dec have said they are “working around the clock” to make their final Saturday Night Takeaway series “bigger and better than ever”.

The Geordie presenters confirmed on Friday that the show will be back for a 20th series next year and that popular skit Little Ant & Dec will feature.

It is set to be a busy time for the pair, who are also behind a return of Byker Grove, the teen series which made their names in the early 1990s.

Dec Donnelly said: “As you know, the next series of Saturday Night Takeaway is our 20th, and we’re working around the clock to make it bigger and better than ever.”

Ant McPartlin added: “We want it to be the biggest send-off because we're resting it for a while.

“So everybody that we haven't managed to get on in the last few years, we're going to try our hardest to get on.

“It's going to be a massive celebration of the last 20 years as well, because it's been running for 20 years, so we're going to bring old things back, we've got brand-new stuff, we've got lots of things planned and we're going to have a lot of fun doing it.”

When is Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway back?

While the exact dates have not been confirmed, Saturday Night Takeaway is set to be back on ITV sometime next year.

However, in recent times, the show has always run for six or seven episodes, from February to April.

Ant and Dec have been hosting the show since 2002 and it has been back for most years within that time, aside from a four-year hiatus from 2009 to 2012.

Will Little Ant and Dec be back for Saturday Night Takeaway?

The Takeaway features many popular mini games, competitions, skits and pranks including Ant & Dec Undercover and Ant Vs Dec.

Little Ant and Dec are children with the appearance, confidence, and cheeky spirit of the presenters who have in the past been charged with interviewing One Direction.

Donnelly has confirmed that casting is underway to revive the segment.

“The breaking news is we’re bringing back Little Ant & Dec,” he said.

“There is a little bit of a problem – the old Little Ant & Dec are just that, they’re a little bit old. They’re not little any more.

“We need a new Little Ant & Dec so, if you know any Geordie lads aged between five and seven, then let us know.

“They have to be cheeky! The cheekier the better!”
