Fire crews battle Glasgow house blaze as road closed by police

A Glasgow road has been closed after a fire took hold of a home in the early hours of this morning (July 2).

Emergency services rushed to the scene on Parkneuk Road in the Giffnock area of the city at around 3.04am after receiving reports of a blaze at a property.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service scrambled two appliances to the incident. Crews managed to extinguish the flames, however, one appliance is still in the area.

No one was injured during the incident

An SFRS spokesperson said: "A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "We were alerted at 3.04am on Tuesday, 2 July to reports of a vehicle fire in Glasgow.

"Operations Control mobilised three appliances to the city's Parkneuk Road, where crews were met by a fire involving a car which had spread to a nearby property.

"Firefighters extinguished the fire and worked to make the area safe before leaving the scene. There were no casualties."
