The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service rushed to a car blaze in the Penilee area of Glasgow on Tuesday evening (May 7).

One appliance was dispatched to the area after they received reports of a vehicle fire at around 6.23pm. The flames were extinguished by crews in less than an hour.

After ensuring the area was safe the appliance left the scene. No one was injured during the incident.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "We were alerted at 6.23pm on Tuesday, 7 May, to reports of a car on fire on Gladsmuir Road, Glasgow.

"Operations Control mobilised one appliance to the scene and firefighters extinguished the fire.

"There were no reported casualties and crews left the scene at 7.15pm after ensuring the area was made safe."
