Fire Department Blames Firework as Waymo Car Burns in San Francisco

Police were reported to be investigating after a Waymo autonomous vehicle was seen ablaze in San Francisco’s Chinatown on Saturday, February 10.

The city’s fire department said the vehicle had its windows broken, and a firework was “lit on fire inside”.

Sandy Karp, a Waymo spokesperson, told CBS Bay Area a crowd “surrounded and vandalized the vehicle”.
