Fire Scorches Shelters at Rohingya Refugee Camp

A fire in the sprawling Rohingya refugee camp at Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh, destroyed around 80 shelters and several shops on Friday morning, May 24, according to local news reports.

Footage by Ederis Mohammed shows the fire.

The chief of mission in Bangladesh with the United Nations, Abdusattor Esoev, wrote on X that volunteers and the local fire service managed to extinguish the fire.
