Lava continued to flow from Hawaii’s Mauna Loa volcano on Monday, November 28, after it began erupting for the first time in nearly 40 years late Sunday night, according to Hawaiian emergency officials.

The Hawaii Department of Transportation told travelers coming to the island that the volcanic activity may affect flights.
