Firefighters tackle garage blaze as crews warn 'avoid the area'

Firefighters from three stations were called out to tackle a garage blaze. Crews say the building was 'well-alight' after arriving on the scene on Saturday evening.

As reported by StokeonTrentLive, Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service had urged people to 'avoid the area' as they tackled the fire on Acton Lane. Crews from Longton, Hanley and Newcastle were all called to the incident at around 8.15pm on Saturday (April 27).

A fire service spokesman said: "Crews went to Acton Lane, Acton, and found a garage well-alight. We used hose reel jets to put out the fire by 10pm and no-one was injured. Shortly after, firefighters deemed the fire to be caused accidentally."
