An engineering firm has selected Maxim Park as their Scottish base for designing power utility products.

Doble Engineering, a company that deals in power grid diagnostic solutions, selected the location after considering 19 properties in and around central Glasgow.

The company has taken a ground floor unit in Maxim 8, an office park placed strategically between Glasgow and Edinburgh, covering an area of 760,000 sq ft.

Ernie Grella, chief technology officer at Doble Engineering, said: “Following the success of this work, we needed to expand, so establishing this new product design office at Maxim Park marks an exciting milestone for us, underscoring our commitment to innovation and meeting the evolving needs of our customers.”

The new setup of 3,244 sq. ft will be dedicated to designing Doble’s electrical testing systems for the power utility industry.

Doble Engineering's initial journey in Scotland started with a research collaboration with Glasgow Caledonian University where lab spaces were provided to staff for research and development tasks.

Ernie said: "Maxim Park provides an ideal location for our talented engineers to thrive, and to continue to grow our team.

"We look forward to making Maxim Park our home in Scotland as we develop cutting edge electrical testing systems for the global power utility industry."

Caroline Baillie, director of Park Services at Maxim Park, said: “We warmly welcome the team at Doble Engineering to the Maxim Park community, and we value their feedback that our location and the ease of commuting will enable the firm to draw engineering talent from a larger area of the country.

“We pride ourselves on working with tenant organisations to help them offer their staff the services and amenities they need to improve their workplace experience. We look forward to seeing Doble Engineering flourish here at Maxim Park.”
